Description
PR9 RepRap MK2B 3D printers Dual Power PCB HeatBed Heat Bed 12 or 24V Update of MK2A
This RepRap MK2B 3D printers Dual Power PCB HeatBed is compatible with any 3D printer that can accept the RAMPS MK2B version of heatbed.
This Heatbed has a dual power capability allowing it to be used with 12V or 24V power supply sources. It features a central mounting hole on the front side to allow for three-point mounting. This is much easier for bed leveling in comparison to 4 point mounting.
First, level the side with two holes and fix in place, then level the side with one hole. A glass plate is highly recommended to provide a truly flat surface and rigidity. Additionally, the solder pads have been greatly increased in size, making it much easier and allowing for the use of 1206 surface mount components. But this does not remove the need to use proper strain relief.
Connection:
12V connection: One cable connected to 1, another cable connected to a wire 2, 3 at the same time. At this time the resistance value of the two lines is 1.0 ~ 1.2Ω, the actual power is 144W.
24V connection: One cable connection 2, another line connected to 3 (1 unconnected), the resistance value of the two lines is 4.0Ω, actual power is 24 * 24/4 = 144W. The new version of the circuit, whether connected 12V or 24V, the power will stable at 144W.
Test Report:
12V connection: Current is 9.8A, as the temperature increases, the current drops to 8.8A (physical tips: resistance becomes larger as the temperature rises)
24V connection: The theoretical maximum current is less than 5A.
