**These are very powerful 4-inch drivers!** I have honestly never seen a 4-inch driver with such a large magnet. The sound is loud, punchy and clear, and they don't distort much even at high volume.
I personally tested them with a **50W × 2 amplifier**, and even at full volume with the bass and treble turned up, the distortion was minimal. Although they are rated at **30W**, they handled this test surprisingly well. Based on my experience, they seem capable of handling considerably more power than their rated specification, although I would still recommend staying within the manufacturer's rating for long-term use.
One important correction to the product description: the website describes these as **subwoofers**, but they are not dedicated subwoofer drivers. They are better described as **woofers/full-range-type drivers**, producing a broad range of low, mid and upper frequencies.
For the best overall sound, I recommend pairing them with **dedicated tweeters**. This gives you a more complete frequency range and improves the clarity and detail of the high frequencies.
Overall, these are extremely impressive 4-inch drivers for a DIY speaker project, especially considering their size and large magnet.
