The Waveshare 9534 LM386 Sound Sensor Module is a high-sensitivity microphone-based sound detection module designed for audio detection, ambient sound monitoring, and sound-triggered applications. Built around the LM386 audio amplifier, the module amplifies microphone signals up to 200× and provides both analog (AOUT) and digital (DOUT) outputs for flexible integration with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Operating from 3.3V to 5.3V, the module is compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32, ESP8266, and other development platforms. An onboard potentiometer allows sensitivity adjustment, while the digital output threshold can be configured for sound-triggered events. It is suitable for clap switches, noise detection, sound monitoring, robotics, smart home projects, and educational electronics.
